F.A.Q.
This is some of the Frequently Asked Questions that you as a client might ask. Q: Why do you not have pricing on your website? A: This is a question that a lot of people ask. There is many things that contribute to this which include budget, equipment, location, and editing. All these take time and money to give you the best possible photos tailored to you and your budget. It all depends on what you want, and what the factors are to achieve the result that you, as a client, desire. Q: If I hire you, do I own the photos you take? A: No. Photography, like music, drawings, and paintings, is an art. You as a client are commissioning me to create something for you. As per Canadian Copyright Law, I own the work unless otherwise is noted in the contract. When you hire me, you have a license to use my photos issued by me. The good thing is that I handle the issue of anyone using the images illegally, and to make sure that the photos are presented as they were intended to be. Q: Why do you charge so much? I can just use my phone. A: I have a lot of overhead to consider. There are lenses that cost as much as the latest iPhone, and some can cost $20,000. Professional photographers invest at least $10,000 in equipment alone to get stunning results, and that is just to start. There is studio time, storage, travel… the list goes on. Then there is time spent sorting photos, editing and uploading. Sure, you could use your phone, and you are free to if that is the result you want, and there is nothing wrong with that. But if you want to achieve a certain look and quality, you need to trust the professionals to help you out. Q: Can I make prints of the photos you took? A: No, but you can ask me about getting prints at any time. This ensures the photos are presented as they were intended to be, and to ensure that the quality of the prints exceed expectations. Q: Can I share the photos from my session with friends? A: Absolutely! Who wouldn’t want to show them off?
